Are you really available 24 hours a day?
Yes. SOS Locksmiths is a genuine 24/7 service, every day of the year including bank holidays. If you’re locked out at 3am, call and you’ll speak to David — not a call centre.
Is there a call-out charge?
No. There is no call-out charge. We’ll talk you through the likely cost on the phone and confirm the price before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
How quickly can you get to me?
We’re based in Lostock, so most of Bolton, Horwich and Westhoughton is a short drive away. When you call we’ll give you an honest arrival time based on where you are and the time of day.
Can you get me in without damaging my door or lock?
In most cases, yes. We always try non-destructive entry first. If a lock does need to be drilled or replaced, we’ll explain why and fit a new one there and then.
My uPVC door won’t lock — can you fix it?
Almost certainly. A handle that won’t lift, a key that won’t turn or a door that only locks when slammed usually means a worn multipoint mechanism or gearbox. We carry replacements on the van and can usually fix it in one visit.
Are you insured and DBS-checked?
Yes. We are fully insured and DBS-checked, so you can feel completely confident letting us into your home or business.
Do you work on car locks or safes?
No — we specialise in residential and commercial door, window and building locks. For vehicle keys or safes, we’d recommend contacting an auto locksmith or safe engineer.
